My Dolly Week #26: Catching zzzs!

The big day (my wedding) is coming up, so is my vacation from work and Theri is tired. So please excuse, if this week’s post is not totally wholesome and I am talking about myself in third person. Before I start diving into the post, I just wanted to mention that I am working backstage on new posts, such as Azone’s Aquamarine Alisa, Neo-Blythe Lorshek Molseh, Pullip Bloody Red Hood and my first Leeke World haul. So please stay tuned, I cannot wait to get more time to blog!

My Poison Girl Mayu.Last week was all about dolly appreciation. I squeezed in time to take pictures in the mornings and evenings, which let’s me question, what I will do in winter. But that’s just me, as always getting ahead of myself. One evening I found myself staring at this black wig, which just would not fit any of my dolls’ looks. But along comes Mayu, who can wear anything. I swear, she is so cute and pretty that uneven bangs and beach waves look easy breezy on her. She won’t wear this wig forever, but she is the perfect model for my wig haul. Otherwise my fiancé is going to be quite upset, since he loves Mayu’s original wig.

My Cheshire Cat Minka.Dear Miss Minki.Speaking of my fiancé: He was a big factor in bringing home Pullip Cheshire Cat in Steampunk World directly from Japan last December. She is one of his favorites. I had to give her some love the past few days and more importantly: A name! So please welcome Miss Minka! Minka was my aunt cat’s name many decades ago and when I got together with my fiancé, his cat Minki was the apple of his eye. We miss her a lot and what is more beautiful to honor her by using her name on a Pullip we both love?! I miss having pets.

There were absolutely no official announcements from Groove or Takara Tomy last week. I think that’s a first one in 26 weeks. Which only leaves me to catch those zzzs and hope that verybody will have a good week!

Thank you so much for reading!

Theri

PS: Next week I am going to visit a donkey and French bulldog. Now that’s a lovely premise! 😀

My Dolly Week #25: mitsubashi@BabyBee – Love

Pullip Alura in Sailor Moon gear!I am a completionist. It is one of my biggest issues, when it comes to collecting. Oftentimes, when I am getting a certain doll, I immediately need to know, if there was another release in direct correlation to my new addition. This absolutely happened, when I first got Pullip Alura (review coming soon), a Creator’s Label release from 2015 with a face-up by the amazing mitsubashi@BabyBee. I started to read up more about her and found out about the prior Pullips she has worked on (there are more Creator’s Label Groove family dolls, but right now I am really trying not to think about them; Taeyang Natsume is so dreamy and so hard to find). My next cutie was My Melody X HEN-NAKO from 2016. I overlooked her at first and fell in love with her in person in Japan and am so happy that I was able to order her shortly thereafter because she disappeared from the shelves since then. Equally lucky were my finds of Kühn (review coming soon) from 2013 and Seila from 2012. Galene, one of the most beautiful Pullips ever in my eyes, also from 2012, followed my family thanks to Ebay. And Laura from 2015 is still available and completed my mini-collection some weeks ago.

All of my mitsubashi@BabyBee Pullips! My customized Pullip Laura!I was itching to take a group shot of my beauties for so long, but I had to get Laura a different wig first. She is so beautiful, but I was always feeling a little bit unsure about her look. After I customized her, I can finally present you my cuties (top to bottom, left to right): Elodie Day (My Melody X HEN-NAKO), Tsukimi (Alura), Katie (Kühn), Wednesday (Laura), Gigi (Seila) and Hanako (Galene). I love them all so much with their dark rimmed eyes and high kitten eyeliner flicks (with the exception of Hanako/Galene). It is also no secret that Alura and Laura are hommages to Seila, but the three other girls also have something in common: Juicy red lips, which make my heart sing! It should not come as a surprise that I hope that we will see some more collaborations with mitsubashi@BabyBee in the future! Continue reading My Dolly Week #25: mitsubashi@BabyBee – Love

My Dolly Week #24: ‘A Mad Tea Party’

Welcome to the 24th edition of My Dolly Week, which is my weekly Sunday post and this time I can show you some more finished mini-projects, which I really loved doing! 😀

My scene of 'A Mad Tea Party'!As we all know, Groove has an obsession with Alice in Wonderland and I wanted to make a little photoshooting session with my three latest cuties, who just got ready with their customization. I decided on the chapter A Mad Tea Party, which is one of my favorites. Continue reading My Dolly Week #24: ‘A Mad Tea Party’

My Dolly Week #23: New Header, Feeling Fresh!

Welcome to My Dolly Week! I am not going to lie: Due to the many things that have to be done before my wedding, I am lucky, if I can sqeeze in a little bit of dolly time during the day. Our wedding is going to be pretty small, so I have no idea how other people are handling more guests-no wonder wedding planners are in such high demand! >< It definitely hurts to have my blog sit on the backburner a little bit, but the pressure lessens, the more we can cross of our list. This week I have finally found my dress and we also got my fiancé’s suit. At least there is no wondering anymore, if we will ever find something we like. And: Men have it so much easier, it’s crazy!

My Poison Girl cuties from today's photoshoot!Mayu in her new hat!Nonetheless, there were some awesome dolly moments, when Mayu’s new kitten hat from Juja Shop arrived in the mail all the way from Russia. I discovered them through María and the craftsmanship is no joke! It fits so perfectly, the mohair wool feels so nice and it immediately transforms your doll into a sweet kitty cat! She also has the most amazing hats for Blythes-those watermelon hats, I tell you! <3 I also hope that you like this rosy photograph of Ruri and Mayu and the new blog header. We are almost six months in and I wanted a slight change! 🙂

Alice du Jardin Mint with new eyechips!Classical Alice with new eyechips!Customizing my stock dolls is also really taking over. I ordered eyechips from Lullaby for Dolls and loved playing around with them. Elise (Pullip Classical Alice) is currently wearing Menthe Glaciale, while Alice (Pullip Alice du Jardin Mint Ver.) is wearing Minuit. I haven’t figured out their outfits yet, but I was so happy that the weather had cooled off for a few days that Alice got my version of a Pride & Prejudice look. There will be some more playing around next week, I promise! Continue reading My Dolly Week #23: New Header, Feeling Fresh!

My Dolly Week #22: Little Changes, Big Difference!

Welcome to the 22nd My Dolly Week post, in which we will discuss the newest announcements from Groove, promo pics for upcoming Blythes and were I can finally share the end of another dolly customizing project. Let’s start!

Pullip Marie's completely new look.My Pullip Marie got a complete makeover. At first I wanted her to get a new dark brown wig, but this flowy and gorgeous baby blue wig from Leeke practically jumped into the shopping cart on its own. It is probably the softest wig ever and its color is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. Truly lush, long and flowy, its pastel tone compliments Marie’s very light and subtle brows. It also helps that her face-up consists out of earthy tones, which go well with a pop of color!

Marie's new eyechips.Marie's CarmenRed dress.Custom doll artists Kiki & Chrysanthemum make beautiful custom eyechips for their dolls and occasionally put a few pairs of them on sale. I got a pair consisting out of two different colors, silver with a little bit of bronze and indigo blue, which sparkles beautifully. It all came together in a crazy way, when I realized that these had to be the new eyechips for Marie and her luxurious wig. Fate struck and the Carmenred Lolita Witch Dress set, which I got over half a year ago through Sugar Lattice Doll Boutique, came into my mind. Why not answer pastels with even more pastels?! Her lace-up booties are the stock boots from Pullip Cheshire Cat. I just love this feeling of making the most of a doll you really care about. And I am so happy that I lost my shyness to change up my stock dolls’ looks because it makes it all so much more fun for me!

Pullip Lupinus with new wig and eyechips.Of course there are certain dolls, I do not ever plan to change up somehow, but if there is something you do not absolutely love, you can play with your sense of aesthetics and try out new things! This also applied to me with Pullip Lupinus, whose stock is great, but she just so much more feels like my doll now. Lu looks like a fluffy bunny now, who just wants to relax in her comfy clothes all day. I told her that that’s the right way to go! Comfy is awesome, when you are as adorable as her!

Poison Girl's Dolls Mayu on fluffy blanket.Poison Girl Doll's Ruri on fluffy blanket. My custom sweeties had a cute little photo shoot on my fluffy pink blanket to celebrate the release of Miss Ruri’s official pictures on Marías website. They are so pretty and cute! I love looking at them in general because every Poison Girl on her site is so special-I will definitely keep you posted, when Mayu‘s photographs are released! My Dolly Week #21: Planning a Wedding and Relaxing with Dollies!

We are now at the end of the 21st Dolly Week and pretty slowly things are becoming more serious, when it comes to the planning of my wedding. Yesterday we were driving around all day to meet with the photographer, florist, baker and owners of the location. Now everything is swirling around in my head and I made notes, as if I was still in school to not forget tiny details like getting the right kind of napkins. The last few months I was absolutely not in the mood to get married and throw a party, but now that all friends of our tiny circle have RSVP’d, I feel extremely lucky and thankful to have the opportunity to celebrate with everybody that I love.

Ruri and Mayu from Poison Girl in their new Nénelle et Lalluli outfits!Ruri and Mayu from Poison Girl in Nénelle et Lalluli!Dolly-wise Ruri and Mayu were the first to model the most adorable bunny sets from Barcelona based Nénelle et Lalluli. Their doll clothes are beyond adorable and I am so happy to have been fast enough to buy the baby blue and baby pink version. The details are immensly sweet and lovely-look at this fluffy bunny tail! I also recommend the brand’s blog because it is so much fun to look at all their beautiful past designs. Definitely worth to follow on social media to know, when anything new is going on sale! My Dolly Week #20: Custom Week!

Welcome to the 20th ‘My Dolly Week’! I don’t think that I ever had such an intense dolly week like the last seven days! I had so much fun and learned a lot! 😀 There were also some announcements from Groove about future collaborations and I found a nice way to pre-order this autumn’s Pullips without having to pay for them in advance!

Ruri and her Toy Story poster! It was finally time for Ruri’s fashion post, since I had to wait for some things to arrive and I had a lot of fun to make a faux-diorama for her. One of my favorite pictures, I especially saved for today, is this photo above, in which she looks super proud of her Shinzi Katoh Toy Story poster (which is actually a post card). It is my dream to create more with my own hands and one day make a real diorama for my cuties!

Mayu stole my heart!Ruri’s Poison Girl’s Dolls sister Mayu arrived on Friday and she is the sweetest. I hope, I am not the only collector out there, who sometimes just relaxes by simply admiring her dolls with an absent-minded grin on her face! When I look at them, I feel like I am in a dream. 😉 I am in the middle of planning Mayu’s solo fashion shoot and a joint one with Ruri! Continue reading My Dolly Week #20: Custom Week!

My Dolly Week #19: Changing your outlook & revealing why next week is going to be special!

Welcome to another week full of dolly ramblings! We have made it to July and gosh, there was a lot going on last week! In my personal collection, but also announcement wise!

My rechipped Pullip LupinusCan you immediately spot, what has changed about Miss Luise?! If you follow me on Instagram, you will have already seen that I changed her eyechips. You can see her original eyechips in the review I wrote and I still like them, but taking her out of her stock clothes and trying to give her a different look, never quite satisfied me. Along came María‘s recommendation to take the plunge and change her eyechips. I was super nervous, all my screwdrivers were too thick and I was swearing like a sailor. It is my plan to make a post for eyechip changing for beginners, so not everybody will be as uneasy as me. My goal is to really get into each detail because I was at the end of my nerves. 😀 You might have guessed that lack of patience is my biggest flaw. I swear, I am getting better at it! 😉

Detail of Pullip Luise's new eyechips!Lu is now wearing pretty golden brown eyechips from Chewy Rabbit and isn’t she super cute?! Finally her nice metallic eyeliner is not competing with her eyes anymore. There is also a new wig coming in for her and some other girls. Leeke World had a sale and because I am such a rookie, I have no idea, if I got a decent deal or not (it looked like one and I am happy). 😀 But hopefully those will be all the wigs I need for a while. Also I need to write up some reviews first, before some girls get a new style!

My Ruri from Poison GirlMore big news! I should probably wait until the end, but I am impatient! 😉 A special girl is going to join Ruri and her sisters soon! I will make sure to let you all know immediately because my happiness is going through the roof! Some tears were shed today and my heart was instantly lost! <3 Continue reading My Dolly Week #19: Changing your outlook & revealing why next week is going to be special!

My Dolly Week #18: Summer’s Heat & Fashionable Blythes

Welcome everybody to another My Dolly Week on my blog. Summer is my least favorite season and it really is a shame because my birthday in August is coming up. >< Still, it is hard to embrace my destiny and love a time period that causes me such discomfort. Speaking of birthdays: My fiancé turned 30 years old last week. And we are going to have two parties today, which I am super looking forward to. 🙂

My Blythes in their new kitty rompers!

My dolls are in the middle of moving to a cooler place. It is so hot right now in my living room and so they are all going to live in the bedroom during the summer. Normally, my shelves are always changing because I like to try and spend equal time with each doll as much as I can. Speaking of which, I have not shown my Blythe dolls much in recent weeks. Thanks to social media I fell in love with the kitty rompers from PlasticFashion, which are hard to come by. Everything by them is literally selling out instantly like hot cakes and Instagram is your best bet to catch one of their creations, since the account gets updated everytime, new items are available. I got lucky one day and was fast enough to order two rompers in the span of a few hours. They are made to fit the Takara Tomy Neo-Blythe stock body perfectly and are even cuter in real life. My girls, Blythie Minoru Shiraishi and Lola Akira (I might love Lucky Star a little bit too much), are thrilled to wear the latest Blythe fashion! My Dolly Week #17: Blanche arrived, Pullip Eternal Sailor Moon & Pullip characters!

Welcome to another Dolly Week on Komonogatari! 😀 This week I have been away for a few days, but that did not stop me from getting some quality time with my dollies and there were some amazing announcements this week, which I am tremendously looking forward to!

Pullip Blanche and Princess SerenityFirst of all, Pullip Blanche arrived this week. I was pretty lucky to get her brand new in great condition, even though she is on a type 3-body, which are prone to be quite fragile and easy to crack especially at the wrists. Two stones fell out of her beautiful earrings, but they were securely sliding around in her box and it won’t be a hard task to glue them back in. Blanche, who I renamed Orphelia, is a stunning release. I cannot help feeling extremely lucky that she joined my family. I already love her so much! When I realised that her outfit had a lot in common with Pullip Princess Serenity, I had to make a picture of my cuties, put it on Instagram and I was quite happy and proud that it started trending under #pullip and made it to second place. I did not write on Instagram about it, but please note that I am very thankful for every support and love to share dolly love!

Carlie, my Pullip Bloody Red HoodActually, the more time I am spending with my dolls, the more they are getting their own characters and backstories. One day I wanted to change up Carlie’s hair and as it turns out, she is the type of girl that looks amazing in two braids. She can even wear this knitted beanie (from KukiDolls) in summer and looks amazing. I never until now knew that Carlie is an artist, who loves to paint, play guitar and play with kitties. We definitely got to know each other better this week! Continue reading My Dolly Week #17: Blanche arrived, Pullip Eternal Sailor Moon & Pullip characters!
