THE DOLLY COLLECTOR TAG πŸŽ€

Whee, here I am! πŸ™ˆ Being in front of the camera is a completely different experience, but at least I had good company. πŸ˜‰ This tag is really old, but I thought that it would be a nice way to introduce myself to you. That being said, it took me three times to film this thing and lots of computer crashes while editing, so to finally be able to share it, is my own personal miracle! 😹

It’s Been A Year: Komonogatari’s First Blogiversary!

Exactly one year ago, my review of Pullip Optical Alice, who I got one day prior brand new from Japan, went online. She was the perfect reason to finally create a blog, an idea, which had been dancing in my head for months and went in lieu with dozens hours of brainstorming because I did not want to start under a blog name or social media handles, which I would have want to change after a short while. And there was one more thing: I was scared! Scared of my own writing and photographing skills and even more scared of not finding anybody to share my passions with! Today I consider February 23rd, 2017 as one of the best days of my life because it was the start of me, putting myself out there. I am a strong believer that the more open I am about my passions and feelings here, the more I hope to deliver the message that it is okay to be passionate about the things you are passionate about!

So many cuties! Continue reading It’s Been A Year: Komonogatari’s First Blogiversary!

My Dolly Week #41: Suzume & My Advent Calendar!

Welcome to another Sunday post, the first Sunday post in December, which means Christmas is just around the corner! Are you as excited about it as I am?! Let’s get started!

Pullip Suzume, Face Up by MikiyochiiWelcome Suzume, my little addition to my Pullip family. Her face up was done by Mikiyochii and I had lots of fun putting the rest of her look together. I will write a whole post about her, since she absolutely deserves it, but my idea was a cute mori girl with gold and green eye make up and reddish brown tones. Suzume can also be abbreviated to Suzy, which only makes her cuter in my opinion. πŸ˜‰

Charlotte, my Pullip MyraThe reason, why this December feels extra special to me, is the advent calendar consisting out of Pullip photographs I am doing this year. Including the close up of Suzume’s face today on Instagram, so far Charlotte, Minka and Felicia had an appearance in their festive outfits. I decided to talk more about my pictures on Sundays, since I can freely ramble around without having a bad conscience. Charlotte (Pullip Myra) is wearing a new outfit from It’s My Caprice, consisting out of a flowy top and cute puffy trousers. I got it almost a month ago, when I started planning my pictures. In the same train of thought, I should mention that doing things like an advent calendar, is so time demanding that I had a hard time to get any writing done. On the plus side, I have only three to four pictures to shoot left, so new blog posts should resume soon! πŸ˜€ Continue reading My Dolly Week #41: Suzume & My Advent Calendar!

My Dolly Week #32: Is it Halloween already?!

Welcome everybody at the very beginning of my favorite month: October! The air feels fresh and crisp with the excitement of Halloween being only a few weeks away. Unfortunately, Halloween is not really a thing in Central Europe and is pretty much looked down on as imported holiday-which has never stopped me to absolutely love it! πŸ˜€ Pumpkins, black cats, witches, bats and ghosts are seriously my thing. This is why I am so thankful to be finally able to share my love for Halloween this year through blogging and taking pictures. Etsy also is kind of a dangerous place for me at the moment…but I am digressing. ><

Wednesday and Tsukimi, my Pullip Laura und Alura.Last week everyday life started to set in, which also means me making plans for the future of Komonogatari and trying to work on a schedule, which I will be able to fulfill on a weekly basis. I am not completely sure yet, which days besides Sunday will become regular posting days, but if there is something, which I am not lacking anything of, it is blogging material with lots of different projects, hauls and reviews. I might have amazing news in the following week, but I do not want to jinx it right now. Please be patient for a little while longer! <3

Minka, my Pullip Cheshire Cat.No secret is that I am gathering all of the tools that I will be needing to customize my MIO kits. Right now, I am still missing some acrylic colors and sanding paper, but I finally need to conquer my fear of failing and start these projects. I have some concepts in my mind, but I know that the really troubling part for me is to decide on one. Basically, if I have finished on one concept of a doll that would add beautifully to my collection, the next one follows immediately. >< Continue reading My Dolly Week #32: Is it Halloween already?!

‘Neko no Kaburimono’: The most perfect Gashapon for your Dolls!

My Halloween hats from the gashapon machine!‘Neko no Kaburimono’ from Kitan Club are little hats for your cats that you can get from gasha or capsule toy machines. Unfortunately, I have no patient kitty cat on hand to tell you, how those hats fulfill their purpose on a living and breathing cutie, but when the right kind of gashapon machines finally crossed my path, I initially had to get some for my dolly collection. These hats have actually been around for quite a while, but when I was visiting Tokyo, there were several series available, which I am going to show you right now!

The fit from the sides!Detail of the ghost! The hats from above! The pumpkin on my Neo-Blythe!The machine, where the hats came from! The newest series is a set out of four different Halloween themed designs, which I was so extremely happy about, since it is my favorite holiday! πŸ˜€ I managed to get three different hats for 500 Yen each (sadly, I missed out on the bat) and I was super suprised how detailed each of them is! The hats from this series are a little big on a Pullip and a little snug on a Blythe, but still very adorable on both! The Halloween hats do come with more fabric than the hats from other series, which covers the neck and upper part of the shoulder area. They are all soft and plushy. My ghost hat still looks a bit wonky, since it came out of the capsule, but I love it nonetheless and cannot decide on a favorite! My Dolly Week #26: Catching zzzs!

The big day (my wedding) is coming up, so is my vacation from work and Theri is tired. So please excuse, if this week’s post is not totally wholesome and I am talking about myself in third person. Before I start diving into the post, I just wanted to mention that I am working backstage on new posts, such as Azone’s Aquamarine Alisa, Neo-Blythe Lorshek Molseh, Pullip Bloody Red Hood and my first Leeke World haul. So please stay tuned, I cannot wait to get more time to blog!

My Poison Girl Mayu.Last week was all about dolly appreciation. I squeezed in time to take pictures in the mornings and evenings, which let’s me question, what I will do in winter. But that’s just me, as always getting ahead of myself. One evening I found myself staring at this black wig, which just would not fit any of my dolls’ looks. But along comes Mayu, who can wear anything. I swear, she is so cute and pretty that uneven bangs and beach waves look easy breezy on her. She won’t wear this wig forever, but she is the perfect model for my wig haul. Otherwise my fiancΓ© is going to be quite upset, since he loves Mayu’s original wig.

My Cheshire Cat Minka.Dear Miss Minki.Speaking of my fiancΓ©: He was a big factor in bringing home Pullip Cheshire Cat in Steampunk World directly from Japan last December. She is one of his favorites. I had to give her some love the past few days and more importantly: A name! So please welcome Miss Minka! Minka was my aunt cat’s name many decades ago and when I got together with my fiancΓ©, his cat Minki was the apple of his eye. We miss her a lot and what is more beautiful to honor her by using her name on a Pullip we both love?! I miss having pets.

There were absolutely no official announcements from Groove or Takara Tomy last week. I think that’s a first one in 26 weeks. Which only leaves me to catch those zzzs and hope that verybody will have a good week!

Thank you so much for reading!

Theri

PS: Next week I am going to visit a donkey and French bulldog. Now that’s a lovely premise! πŸ˜€

Review: Pullip Cheshire Cat in Steampunk World

Pullip Cheshire Cat in Steampunk World
Pullip Cheshire Cat in Steampunk World

Pullip Cheshire Cat in Steampunk World wrote Pullip-history. She was the first Pullip with a new eye-mechanism, which allows you to show off her eyeliner, while her eyes are still open. Cheshire Cat was released in Japan in October 2016 and is the last doll in the Alice in Steampunk World series. She was very sought after and really popular from the moment her promo-pictures turned up on the internet, but I have to admit that I did not think that she was for me. And even just now, when I look at her promo-pictures for reference, I get the same feeling of indifference that I had then. Luckily I was able to travel to Japan in December, where I did not only change my mind about Pullip Lupinus, but fell in love with Cheshire Cat and bought her on the first day of my trip. She is a really sweet kitty and is now best friends with my Nana-chan.
