This might be a bit soon, but at the same time editing this video just made me too excited to not share right away: Are you looking to gift a Pullip doll to somebody, but have no clue where to begin? Or are you a doll collector, who is a little out of the loop, when it comes to the world of Pullips? No problem, this gift guide has you covered! 😊
Whee, here I am! 🙈 Being in front of the camera is a completely different experience, but at least I had good company. 😉 This tag is really old, but I thought that it would be a nice way to introduce myself to you. That being said, it took me three times to film this thing and lots of computer crashes while editing, so to finally be able to share it, is my own personal miracle! 😹
I have always wanted to write a post about starting a Pullip collection and to share all the things that I have learned so far. Getting into a new hobby can be overwhelming, especially when it comes to dolls and their many varieties. So this post will be particular about Pullips and hopefully you will fall in love with them just as much as I did!
Happy Easter, everyone! Whether you celebrate it or not, I hope you are having a nice little spring holiday! Last week was a whirlwind for me and I unfortunately could not invest as much time into my dolls, as I would normally like to. On the plus side, I started fixing my sleep schedule and ventured out into nature (during the day) to break the bad habit of living like a vampire (nothing against vampires, but it was just not working out for me..)! Miss Minnie welcomes you and let’s get started! Continue reading My Dolly Week #58: Happy Easter!
Exactly one year ago, my review of Pullip Optical Alice, who I got one day prior brand new from Japan, went online. She was the perfect reason to finally create a blog, an idea, which had been dancing in my head for months and went in lieu with dozens hours of brainstorming because I did not want to start under a blog name or social media handles, which I would have want to change after a short while. And there was one more thing: I was scared! Scared of my own writing and photographing skills and even more scared of not finding anybody to share my passions with! Today I consider February 23rd, 2017 as one of the best days of my life because it was the start of me, putting myself out there. I am a strong believer that the more open I am about my passions and feelings here, the more I hope to deliver the message that it is okay to be passionate about the things you are passionate about!
Welcome to another Sunday post on Komonogatari! Have you had a nice week? Mine has been a quite turbulent up and down in my personal life, being beyond boring for hours and suddenly pretty stressful with lots of heart racing. That is why I actually called this post ‘Steady, steady…’ because I definitely need a bit less excitement next week, since the last seven days were too much! >< It also refers to the fact that there are so many doll reviews to write and pictures to take, which can feel overwhelming sometimes. Especially when there is no time due to work or the sun hiding from me on my days off. Still, I will catch up with my posts and will try my best to take cute pictures! Ganbatte!
I always feel weird, when there is no proper review before or right after a new year begins. This blog will turn one year old at the end of February, which marks 2017 as its most important year, since starting new things is always the biggest step to take. Many wonderful things happened this year and I am happy to share them with you!
One year ago I did not have any clue about customizing my Pullips. Changing eyechips was a terrifying thought and I did not get the appeal of re-wigging, even though I detected some quality issues with certain stock wigs. I did however start to change them out of their stock clothes, mainly because I wanted my Pullip Sailor Neptune not to be battle ready all of the time and to be able to relax with the other girls. (Imagine all of your dolls wearing long lolita-type dresses and then there is Sailor Neptune right next to them in a mini skirt and bare legs.) As soon as I had discovered Etsy, a new world opened up with that many creators of doll clothes and accessories around the world, there are truly limitless possibilities to get creative!
Good evening, everybody! We have less than four hours of 2017 left and I would like to take some time to talk mainly about new releases or dolly updates, since I had so little time to do that during the holidays! I might sound like a broken record, but December just flew by so quickly! All in all, 2017 was a wonderful year! It was the year I got married to the love of my life and my best friend, who reads every blog post, even though he does not collect dolls himself. Furthermore, the fact that I started this blog in late February and Instagram about one month later, which made it possible for me to meet so many lovely people and be lucky enough to befriend some of them, brings tears to my eyes! Thank you so much for your support! I cannot wait to have many more conversations in 2018! Thanks to you, it was one of the best years of my life!
One year ago I had no idea, how to customize a Pullip and Hattie, Alice du Jardin Mint, probably had no idea either that she would go through a lot of changes, until I would be 100% happy with her look! The reason, why I chose Hattie to specifically photograph for today, is the fact that she was my first Pullip that I ever got. She moved in at the end of September 2016 and is now my perfect sweet lolita with sparkling pink eyechips from Lullaby For Dolls, a blonde Leeke wig, new fluttery lashes (I get them for a few bucks from Amazon) and the perfect dress from Sugar Lattice! Welcome to the 44th Dolly Week and let me tell you: Celebrating with my family and all of my dolls swallowed all of my energy! I am still recovering. Especially my dolls look like the sweetest cuties, but they are such party animals in real life! I am a bit afraid of what New Year’s Eve will look like! Yikes! 😀 Furthermore, I am working through the holidays this year and I was so tired yesterday that I completely overslept. Thankfully, I did not get up to late, but you can imagine that I am not the best version of myself right now! >< But(!): I am SO excited to make more dolly content! It is a bit weird to me that I am not uploading daily anymore on my Instagram, but I still have some pictures up my sleeve and want to do a nice photoshoot for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day!
On Christmas Eve I wanted to share this picture of my Poison Girl cuties, who are wearing some of my favorite outfits and Mayu and Ruri are carrying Christmas handbags from La Prinfresa. I simply love Rudolph and the little Christmas tree. Their quality is out of this world and the details are simply so nice! I will use them every year from now on and I also saw online that they look so nice as ornaments on dolly sized trees! If that does not sound like a good investment, I truly do not know, what is! 😉 Continue reading My Dolly Week #44: Christmas Festivities and Their Consequences!
Welcome to an amazing Dolly Week! As many of you might know, I finally started collecting Pullips in 2016, which was a year full of several amazing releases per month. Since I am writing this blog, Pullip releases have been a rare thing and to say that I was worried, is an understatement. My thoughts were pretty much that I might have started, when it was all coming to an end. But today, I finally have great news about upcoming releases, which I am excited about and immediately started budgeting for.
Before talking about them though, I spent my week customizing and styling my dolls. Elise, my Pullip Classical Alice, I already had customized before, but desperately needed new lashes. From some angles, her expression looked off because her stock lashes looked so thin with her new sparkling mint eyechips. I am much happier with her now and it seems like Elise is too! The more you customize your dolls, the more your skills grow and the more you will know, how you like to style your dolls. In these pictures, she met deer Gustav for the first time, who recently moved in, when I was browsing for dolly sized Christmas stuff!
