My Dolly Week #39: Groove is Back on Track with Pullip Nanette Erica Ver., Pullip Himawari and Pullip Eileen for Spring 2018!

Welcome to an amazing Dolly Week! As many of you might know, I finally started collecting Pullips in 2016, which was a year full of several amazing releases per month. Since I am writing this blog, Pullip releases have been a rare thing and to say that I was worried, is an understatement. My thoughts were pretty much that I might have started, when it was all coming to an end. But today, I finally have great news about upcoming releases, which I am excited about and immediately started budgeting for.

Elise, my Classical AliceElise, my Classical AliceBefore talking about them though, I spent my week customizing and styling my dolls. Elise, my Pullip Classical Alice, I already had customized before, but desperately needed new lashes. From some angles, her expression looked off because her stock lashes looked so thin with her new sparkling mint eyechips. I am much happier with her now and it seems like Elise is too! The more you customize your dolls, the more your skills grow and the more you will know, how you like to style your dolls. In these pictures, she met deer Gustav for the first time, who recently moved in, when I was browsing for dolly sized Christmas stuff!

Poppy, my Summer PurezzaPoppy, my Summer PurezzaThe girl, who needed most of my attention, was Poppy, my Summer Purezza. Her early type-3 body was so floppy that I hated myself, but could not prevent myself from calling her ‘Floppy Poppy’ in my mind. Look, who is now looking like an absolute queen with her new obitsu body! Floppy Poppy, no more! She also got new eyechips, new lashes and a new wig. Her look is now very grown-up and I am so grateful that everything went well! I am going to write up a quick post about changing rubber eyechips. Doing things for the first time is scary, but so educational at the same time!

Hattie, my Alice du JardinMy last girl with a makeover, is Hattie (Pullip Alice du Jardin Mint Ver.)! Hattie was my first Pullip ever and while I got a quite cute result from customizing her the first time, it did not feel totally right to me and maybe a bit too simple for her lovely pink toned face up! She was definitely craving a fair toned wig to suit her complexion and her new eyechips support the pink tones by being a complex mixture of black and rosy colors. Hattie also craved a cool outfit, which fits her outstanding beauty much more and feels so more fashionable. I think, she finally has the style she deserves!

Pullip Nanette Erica Ver.Pullip Nanette Erica Ver.Pullip Nanette Erica Ver.Now, it’s time! It’s time to start a schedule for new releases in 2018, which make my heart beat faster! I am not going to talk about the Revolutionary Girl Utena dolls, since I talked about them thoroughly in the past, but about all those news, which we were blessed about in the past week. It all started with the announcement of a new Pullip for the Premium line, which basically features recolored releases from past dolls. In February Pullip Nanette Erica Ver. will be released in Japan, which probably means that she will be released in March in the rest of the world. When I saw her for the first time, what immediately caught my eye, was her more subdued color theme in comparison to the original Pullip Nanette from 2012. Also, Nanette Erica comes with the most dramatic cape out of black lace, I have ever seen! She needed to grow on me for a little bit, but after 24 hours, she had made her way onto my wishlist. I have always been a fan of black in combination with pale pink and also the fact that Groove is giving her realistic blue eyechips, is simply lovely in my opinion. I cannot wait for her to be released!

Pullip HimawariPullip HimawariOne month later, in March Pullip Himawari, which means ‘sunflower’ in Japanese, is scheduled to be released in Japan, who is a Pullip in collaboration with Junichi Nakahara, who was a Japanese graphic artist and fashion designer. We were not able to see much of Hidawari until now, but does not she look just like the artwork, she was influenced by?! I am in love with her cute look and could die for her red gingham dress with the cutest strawhat ever! The last Pullips with strawhats were Pullip Dita and Pullip Meg, as far as I know, which I both missed out on. So Pullip Himawari will be a full on must-have for me!

Pullip EileenThere is also more information about former nameless mystery girl, which was produced with Baby, The Stars Shine Bright and Girlism. Her name is Pullip Eileen and The Dolly Insider did lots of digging, since she is already on sale through Taobao. Apparently her prize will increase in the upcoming months with her regular release being expected around March and April, but I at least would prefer to get some proper promotional photographs before buying, although I am quite intrigued. Still, in the past, whenever BBTSSB or Alice & The Pirates were showing Pullip dolls on their runways, they always had some changes from the final product. I am going to wait for her release in spring!

In short, we are now having a busy schedule with one release per month back. The months refer to the Japanese release. We probably have to wait about a month longer for each doll to be released in the rest of the world:

  • February: Pullip Nanette Erica Ver.
  • March: Pullip Himawari
  • March/April: Pullip Eileen

Are you as excited as I am about new Pullip dolls and also super glad that everything seems to be back on track? Are you planning on adding one of these beauties into your doll collection?

Thank you so much for reading!
