Review: Pullip Outfit Selection Valletta Set

Outfit Selection Valletta SetI have never been to Valletta myself, but at least I get to show you Groove Inc.’s Valletta set from their Outfit Selection line. My model for this post is Felicia my Pullip Optical Alice, whose complexion looks beautiful in dark navy and red. The main optic of this set is a preppy school uniform that fits a Pullip’s type-4 body like a glove. It includes a headband, a blazer, a blouse, a skirt, kneesocks and shoes. Basically, everything you need for a cute look to play with!

The whole setThe headbow!Due to its vibrant colors of red and dark navy, I had to colorfast every single item except the blouse and especially the headband was bleeding out color like crazy. So please consider colorfasting before putting anything vibrant like that onto your doll’s head! That being said: The headband is absolutely perfect: Its big bow is out of a very lacey looking mesh fabric, which immediately transforms the look of an outfit. It has super soft fabric out of satin in the back and there is an elastic band hidden on the inside, which keeps the headband from sliding down your Pullip’s head.

A better look at the blazer. The blazer!Another beautiful part of this outfit, is the preppy blazer, which is mainly dark navy with white on the collar, the shoulders, the end of the sleeves and on the hemline. Even though I colorfasted it, the navy did not stain any of the white fabric. It also has a row of white buttons going down in the middle and one on each shoulder, which are just for show. You can close it by fastening two hooks on the inside.

The blouse.Under the blazer, Feli is wearing the grey and beige pinstriped blouse, which has lots of ruffles in the front with a large navy blue bow on top. Being a preppy blouse, it has long sleeves and closes in the front with velcro.

Feli being cute! The skirt! The pleated skirt is out of dark navy cotton, closes in the back with velcro and has a red bow out of pleather in the front. If you are familiar with the pleather used on the uniforms of the Pullip from the Sailor Moon series, you can imagine, what it feels like. I am not completely smitten with it, but it looks and works better than I initially thought.

Kneesocks and Mary Janes. To round up the look, the kneesocks in bright red are a very nice touch. They are a darker color than the headband, but it works amazingly. The shoes are something we have already seen on other Groove dolls, but I am a big fan of the mold, so I won’t complain. They are black Mary Janes with red heels and soles. I have used them for so many different pictures in the past, they are amazing staples in my dolls’closet! πŸ˜‰

What are your thoughts on preppy doll fashion? Are you a fan or do you prefer different styles?

Thank you so much for reading!
