Watching the Harry Potter films in the cinema, were always important dates in my childhood, which continued throughout my adolescence and were completed, when society categorized me as an adult. Even though I will always prefer the books of J. K. Rowling’s enormously famous fantasy saga about a young wizard fighting for the good, the films and their cast will always hold a special place in my heart! Now, sixteen years after the original release of ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets‘, Mattel decided to release a new line of six dolls, modelled after the characters appearing in the story. These characters are fan favorites Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Ginny Weasley, as well as headmaster Albus Dumbledore and professor Minerva McGonagall. I bought the whole set from Amazon and will start their reviews today with Mr. Harry Potter himself!
Let’s get the most important thing out of the way: Harry is one of my favourites of this whole set! Not only can you definitely catch his resemblance to actor Daniel Radcliffe, but he also reminds me a lot of the book covers I loved as a child. His black hair has a slight dark brown sheen to it and it is moulded out of plastic in a shape that is super unruly, just like in the Harry Potter books! You can see his lightning shaped scar peeking through his bangs that also almost cover up his bushy dark brown eyebrows. My friend pointed out to me that his eyes are blue like Daniel Radcliff’s and not dark green like in the books, which makes sense, since it it also Daniel Radcliff’s younger Harry Potter-self on the packaging. His expression is super cute, a slight smile with confidence and dimples.
You can remove his simple black glasses and to put them back on, you only have to push them back into the tiny holes in his hair on each side. They appear quite fragile to me, so I will take special care not to brake them!
The same thing applies to his wand. It’s appearance is true to the films and you can attach it to Harry’s thumb, if you want him to hold it.
His clothes are his Hogwarts Gryffindor uniform: A long black cloak with the Gryffindor seal printed on the chest, long black trousers out of linen, simple black lace-up shoes out of plastic and a cotton jumper, which I would like to talk more about:
Harry’s jumper with Gryffindor’s signature colours in red and gold, doubles as his shirt and tie underneath, the tie being just printed on top of the fabric. I would have prefered a separate tie, but it does not kill my joy of having Hogwarts uniforms for dolls!
What I absolutely love about these dolls, is their poseability and articulation. Harry’s hands have a lot of detail and personality and you can bend his arms and legs. Harry Potter is ready for his next adventure!
I was looking forward to this dolls for months and, without giving too much away from my upcoming reviews, I love them all! They also bring a lot of nostalgia with them and their price is not too harsh on your wallet!

I love the Harry Potter books so much! I read them all as they came out. And the movies too!!! These dolls bring back so much memories.
