Yotsuba &! Figure Collection vol. 2

Yotsuba &! is a widely loved manga series by Kiyohiko Azuma and centers around a little girl and her adventures. Her philosophy in life is to enjoy everything and though she is so much younger than me, I can still draw inspiration from her. The manga has 13 volumes out until now; the 13th was only just released past December after a long hiatus from the author. Speaking of Kiyohiko Azuma, he also once declared in an interview that he is very picky, when it comes to Yotsuba&! merchandise, hence why there are only a few choices around. I could not find any in Japan myself and pre-ordered this figure collection about two months ago. Not to be too forward, but it is so amazing that the first volume is now on its way as well! πŸ˜‰yotsuba figure vol 2 boxesYou can get the whole set in a box, which should guarantee you a full set. In stores you can probably also buy the figures individually in blind boxes, which I would never recommend, if you want to get every figure anyways. There are five figures in total and they are tiny preciousness with movable heads! πŸ˜€

6) SIT

sit figureThe collection sees itself as sequel from the first volume, that’s why the first figure starts with number 6. The short and easy names are a nice touch to stay true to the manga. Sit is probably my favorite. Yotsuba is ready to sit on your shelf with dangling feet and looking at you with a puzzled look. This little face of hers is so cute! You can move and tilt her head. When she is sitting on an even surface, she is stable enough not to fall down.

7) PUT

put figureYotsuba wants to put a brick-looking something somewhere and has to reach her arm all the way out for it. Isn’t her posture super cute and elegant at the same time? She balances out and stands perfectly on her own. Her head can move and tilt a little bit, but not as much as the previous figure. Her expression looks quite intense, so I hope she will succeed and encourage her on the way! She is also wearing a white t-shirt with pink sleeves, while she was wearing a hoody before. Those are the two outfits these Yotsuba figures come in.

8) PEEP

peep figureBeing a small child, of course Yotsuba is a curious one and sometimes has to peep around the corner to find out certain things. She mainly stands on her left foot and is leaning to the side because she is supposed to hide behind something and spy at you from behind the corner. You can freely move and tilt her head, adjust her level of curiosity to your liking. Her face looks serious in a cute childlike manner. My favorite are her eyebrows. She is going to find out your secret and means it!

9) OBSERVE

observe figureObserve is the happiest Yotsuba of the bunch. She has found something on the ground she likes. When I was a child, I had a fascination with watching ants. So she kind of reminds me of times like this. She can stand on her own, when her head is facing down. When you change the position of her head upwards, the balance is off and she falls over. There is no problem with her balance, when you let her look to the left or the right. Her face melts my heart!

10) SUSPEND

suspend figureAnd why not end with the total opposite?! Yotsuba suspends from whatever you want her to, as long as it has a rim that is narrow enough for her tiny hands to hold on to. It is hard not to feel sorry for her, why I also at first thought that the name of this figure was SUSPENSE. You can move her head between her arms a little, but that’s it. I am thinking of building Yotsuba her own tiny playground, where she can suspend as long as she wants without having to exhaust herself so much!

the whole setThis concludes my review of these new tiny friends. The cuteness is out of this world, even though Yotsuba’s design is quite simple and you might know by now that I am no enemy of super girly things. I will write another post on the first volume of figures. I cannot wait! πŸ˜€

Are you familiar with Yotsuba? Thank you so much for reading!
