My Dolly Week #43: A New Batch of Twins!

Pullip Cassie & Pullip CalliePullip Cassie & Pullip CallieIt’s one week before Christmas and the air is feeling festive, while the days are getting shorter. Last week I shared my final dolly additions of the year on my Instagram: Pullip Callie and Pullip Cassie from Groove’s Creator’s Label line. They are collaborations with doll artists Happydolly/Memento and as kawaii as can be. Callie and Cassie are supposed to be twin sisters, so their face ups are super similar. Their biggest difference, in my opinion, lies in the shape of their lips. At first I only wanted to get one sister, but as you probably know, I am a weak soul. This is how these cuties are already the third pair of sisters in my collection after Clara and Chloi, Laura and Alura. Last week both of them were put into the ‘Last Chance’ section of Pullip Style, which means that they are not awaiting any further shipments of those two. I cannot say that I am surprised that they are selling out-and I can absolutely recommend them: They completely look like custom dolls and they come with a huge amount of stock pieces out of the highest quality! I named my Cassie ‘Hermione’ after my grandmother and Hermione Granger and my Callie is called ‘Audrey’ after my favorite actress Audrey Hepburn. πŸ™‚

Pullip Mayu in her gingerbread dress!Pullip Mayu in panda clothes!Mayu is wearing her festive dress from Mota de AlgodΓ³n and looks absolutely enchanting! A few weeks ago, I was sceptical, whether Christmas-themed doll clothing would be ‘worth’ it, but after shopping around a bit, I have to say that it makes me super happy to see cuties like Mayu being enamored in their golden colored gingerbread dresses. Could you tell that theΒ  dress she is wearing, is actually made for Blythes?! It has such a nice fit on Mayu’s 27cm obitsu! I am so happy and cannot wait to show you some more of her in the next week! My goal for Mayu is to completely dress her up in kawaii clothes in the future. I think, it was the first step to turn her into a little panda girl, but in the future, she is going to be even more colorful than the rainbow. Wish me luck! πŸ˜‰ Continue reading My Dolly Week #43: A New Batch of Twins!

My Dolly Week #38: Dolly Denim and Obitsus!

Welcome to another Dolly Week on my blog! This week has been super duper interesting, when it comes to new releases, but I also finally started some projects to rebodyΒ  my older Pullip girls, since I brought home four obitsus in total from Japan.

Natalia, my Pullip BlancheThe first girl I rebodied was Natalia, my Pullip Blanche. Although I do not massively hate the Pullip type-3 bodies, they do tend to make your Pullips quite stiff looking and do not allow them to pose properly. Especially the type-3 neck was bugging me, since it looks way too unnatural. Natalia always seemed to stick her head way forward in comparison to her type-4 and obitsu bodied sisters. I plan to do a more detailed post about my girls’ different body types, but for Natalia I decided on a flesh toned 27 cm obitsu, since I went for the same height as Mayu and Ruri, which I had misjudged in the past as 24cm tall. In the future, I do plan to get some of the new 24cm obitsus, but since my type-3 girls seem more grown-up anyway, they are all going to be taller than that. May I just say that I love Natalia’s new look?! I also dressed her up in the coolest dolly ensemble from Atelier Milabrocc ever! Those perfect embroidered and distressed Mom jeans are going to be a staple in my dolly wardrobe for years!

Minnie, Iris Mint by Charon DollsMinnie, Iris Mint by Charon DollsSpeaking of denim from Atelier Milabrocc, before she released the set with the jeans and the equally stylish sweater, she made the most adorable shorts in the same style. My Pullip wardrobe is full of dresses and skirts, lilacs and pinks, which I both wanted to mix up a bit (nevermind, the pink embroideries on the denim…they don’t count!). Minnie, my Charon Dolls’ custom Pullip, was the first one to try on those glorious shorts in combination with a cropped lilac knit sweater-from Atelier Milabrocc as well. Can you tell that I like her work?! πŸ˜€ Minnie looks a bit rockabilly and like a cool pastel chick in general. I am super pleased-she needs to wear the most out of this outfit before it gets too cold! Continue reading My Dolly Week #38: Dolly Denim and Obitsus!

Meet Iris Mint by Charon Dolls!

Iris Mint is a child of spring! She is a full custom Pullip by Charon Dolls and was created for the Omocha Crush Tea Party in London last May. She immediately caught my eye, since I am loving all things pastel and mint, but unfortunately I did not have the funds for her at the time and tried to let her go in my mind. That I am still super lucky to now be able to call her part of my collection must have been destiny! πŸ˜€

Iris Mint from Charon DollsIris Mint from Charon DollsIf you are familiar with Charon’s work, you will already know that she creates her Pullips after certain themes. The name Iris Mint says it all: We are talking about the prettiest minty iris flower ever! My favorite make-up point are the actual iris blossoms, which Iris Mint is rocking on her lower lashline and on her eyelids on a base of matte mint. Her eyeshadow is a lighter mint with a pearly sheen in the inner and a pastel lilac in the outer corners. The transition of the shades is flawless. For the eyeliner Charon chose a dark brownish aubergine with the cutest little curling flick at the outer corners. To complete the look with a special pop of color, Iris Mint is wearing a dash of hot pink in the inner corners of her eyes. The hot pink works so phenomenally well; Minnie (that’s my nickname for her) is an accumulation of happy colors! To complement her stylish look, Charon picked out deep indigo blue eyechips with purple shimmer from Lullaby for Dolls. These eyechips are simply perfect for giving her gaze a certain depth and curiosity! Have you noticed Minnie’s nostrils?! I love them so much! Continue reading Meet Iris Mint by Charon Dolls!

My Dolly Week #34: Meet My Mouse Minnie!

Welcome to my 34th post of My Dolly Week, which signals the end of a rather strange week with lots of turbulences and weird feelings. Why weird feelings?! I have been in the dolly hobby now for a little bit over a year. There are so many things, I still know nothing about and am still learning each week. Sometimes this leads to mistakes on my part, which feel just terrible and I can only count myself lucky that I have found some super lovely people, who still have my back and support me.

Pullip Iris MintOn a lighter note, this little girl above has been cheering me up with her colorful and soothing nature. Her official name is Iris Mint and she is a full custom by Charon Dolls, whose custom Pullips are simply delightful! My nickname for Iris Mint is Minnie, which I think suits her sweet face perfectly. I want to dedicate a whole post to her in the upcoming days, so please stay tuned. πŸ˜‰

Cute Mayu is here to help!As a fact, Minnie and Mayu have been my little helpers for a spooky project, I have been working on lately. It will hopefully be cute and fun. If everything turns out the way I want it to, I will be able to announce it next week! During preparations I was re-organizing my whole Pullip collection, which I should have known before, was a total mess! >< And speaking of even messier things: My face-up skills are so bad! I am by no means getting discouraged, but right now I am basically ‘creating’ a face-up, while testing out the materials, and afterwards immediately remove it. I have read on several blogs that you have to have a lot of practice and patience before getting any better. Maybe one day in the future, I will be able to share a face-up as a creative product of mine next to photography and writing, but until then I could not justify shocking you with my try-outs. πŸ˜‰ Continue reading My Dolly Week #34: Meet My Mouse Minnie!
