New Pullip Releases: Arianna, Princess Kakyu & Custom Contest Winners!

How do you start a blog post, when you are too excited for your own good?! Let me start with the obvious: Yes, I am interested in every single Pullip girl that I am going to talk about and I am fangirling! Let’s get this gloriousness on the road:

Pullip Princess Kakyu with the Sailor Starlights!Pullip Arianna

Pullip AriannaPullip AriannaPullip AriannaPullip Arianna is an original release for September 2018 and you might have seen her prototype on pictures of various doll shows. It is exciting that she is going to finally be released and what excites me the most is this girl’s face. It just reminds me of summer with her turquoise eyechips and yellow and pink eyeshadow. I also really love her lips, her blushing and the blonde wig really suits her. Her outfit looks nice, although it is not completely my cup of tea. I do love floral themes, but the overall design of the dress feels a little dated with the uber long and puffy sleeves, as well as the long bib (?) in the front. In my opinion, Arianna’s face has such a cool and modern vibe that I would love to see her rocking contemporary clothes!

Pullip Princess Kakyu

Pullip Princess KakyuPullip Princess KakyuPullip Princess KakyuGroove’s Sailor Moon collaboration is progressing with Pullip Princess Kakyu being released in September as well! I have mentioned countless times that the fifth and final season of Sailor Moon (‘Sailor Stars’) is my favourite, which makes this release extremely exciting for me! Due to Princess Kakyu’s mark on her forehead, I think of her as a display doll, since (also considering her eccentric wig) I cannot imagine any other style than the stock she comes with fitting for her. What I really love about her face up, are the red and orange tones, especially the bright red eyeshadow! I can only imagine her looking amazing next to my Pullip Princess Serenity and am so tempted!

The Winners of the Custom Contest

The winner of Groove’s Pullip custom contest is Japanese artist Yuki Doll, who won with her entry ‘The Secret Garden of White Witch‘. Just like Arianna, this girl has a floral theme, even though I would say that Yuki Doll perfected the theme even more with those beautiful green and golden floral eyechips! Her face up is very dreamy and soft, making me very excited to see her as a Pullip stock doll! So far we do not have any further information, as for when we will be able to pick up her up in stores, but seeing that Yuki Doll has visited Groove headquarters last week, I am optimistic that we will be blessed with news soon!

Three creators have been awarded with the special prize: Japanese artist Milk Revolution, Russian artist Eniva Queen and German artist Mikiyochii. Honestly, I wish that all three of those dolls would be made into regular releases too! If Groove handles this the right way, fans like me would go crazy with gratitude! There has not been a Creator’s Label release since late 2016’s Pullip Lupinus by Silver Butterfly, so reviving this line with more than just one doll, would be equally amazing for collectors and the company!

Are there any upcoming girls that you dream of adding to your collection? And I am also interested to hear your general opinions: Are you still into Sailor Moon releases? Do you like floral themed dolls?

Thank you so much for reading!
