My Dolly Week #60: Candy Candy!

Welcome to another ‘My Dolly Week’ post; before we start, I highly recommend you to play Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s ‘ Candy Candy‘ in the background, since I have been listening to it on loop since Thursday! I honestly have no idea, why it took me about a thousand years to get into her music, but better late than never – and this ironically also applies to my Pullip collection! πŸ˜‰

Vivi, my Bonnie, with her new wig!

First of all, I am so happy to have written Pullip Bonnie’s review because I got impatient to rewig her. I have nothing against her stock wig, I just really wanted her to have a hairstyle without bangs. I call her Vivi and she is now wearing a Luts wig in the colour ‘Grayish Pink’. Its style is DW-232. The loose waves look and feel so nice; I am completely wowed by it!

Mayu in her new dress; so worth the wait!Mayu’s ‘English Afternoon Tea‘ dress by Jiajiadoll also came in and it was so worth the wait! It matches her turquoise eyeshadow amazingly and the only concern I have about this picture, is the hairstyle I gave her – just so you know: She is not wearing it anymore right now! I will try to get better at hairstyles! >< Just if you are interest in Jiajiadoll clothes for your cuties: All items are usually made-to-order and you can order most items to fit the particular body of your doll; in this case Mayu’s 27OB. It can take a few months to receive your item, but it is worth it to have an item that fits perfectly than trying to put clothes for stock bodies onto an obitsu.

Chi, my Nomyens girl!In the same breath of waiting, I sent a Mocha MIO kit to Thai doll artist Nomyens a few months ago and she came back this week! Again, so worth the wait, if you need a face up for your dolls! I call my new girl Chi, short for Chitose, and she is reminding me of a little wide eyed doe! After waiting for several months, I had the light pink eyechips by ‘Lullaby For Dolls’ ready, just like her wig from Leeke World, but in time I kind of had forgotten, what especially the wig actually looked like. πŸ˜€ And that actually made it super fun to put Chi together! I will write more about her in the upcoming weeks, so please look forward to her! πŸ™‚

There were no new announcements in the last week. Maybe next week, we’ll see Pullip Style receive Cinnamoroll and Himawari?! Either way, we are still getting closer. I can feel it! πŸ˜€

How has your week been? Do you like Kyary Pamyu Pamyu? I am so happy that my friend told me about her!

Thank you so much for reading!

  1. I’ve been excited about Himawari, too, and can’t wait to see owner photos of her!

Your dolls are looking so lovely- I especially love Bonnie’s wig! It’s a colour I really like for doll wigs, and the style is perfect, too. I have a sheep wool wig for one of my dolls, in a very similar colour!

On the subject of wigs, where do you prefer to buy them? There’s a shop in my country that sells Leeke and a few others, that I get to visit a few times per year, but their selection is so narrow. Ordering directly from Leeke or Luts seems like harakiri because of the shipping costs to Europe, so I’d love to hear if you’ve found a good source!

I’d also be happy to hear wig brand/maker recommendations in general, because most wigs come with bangs and I just don’t like them…!

    1. Hi Selina!

I am still no pro, when it comes to wigs because, as you said, many brands only offer EMS shipping and if you are not buying in bulk, it hardly seems plausible to pay that much for shipping!

The loopholes I found, are the following:

Leeke World rehauled their website a few months ago and now Air Mail to Europe is available! I haven’t ordered anything from their site since January, but I am pretty sure that I paid about 8€ for shipping.

Now Luts is still only offering EMS on their site, however Pullip Style started to sell a wide variety of their wigs and has already restocked their inventory once. For one or two wigs it was about 12 USD for shipping.
French Pullip store Doremy is also carrying Luts wigs since last week, but their selection is not that versatile yet. They announced that they will offer more styles in the near future. I haven’t gotten a wig from Doremy yet, but for each order I pay about 6€.

There are still so many different companies to try out, but their shipping is still keeping me away from them. >< Thank you so much for liking my dolls and I hope that the info above was helpful! All the best, Theri

  2. Hi Theri! Do you know what you just did? You solved my wig problems by infoing me about Leeke’s new airmail option! It’s so stupid- I’ve had some wigs in my cart for a long time, but never dared to order because of the shipping costs… Well, now I could finally do it, and ordered the wigs I’ve been drooling over! You’re fast becoming my good doll fairy godmother with your advice. πŸ˜‰ Leeke wigs are my favourite, so I’m extra happy!

Have a nice rest of the week, both you and your sweet girls!

    1. Hi Selina!

That sounds amazing and makes me so happy; I am so glad that you could order the wigs that you have wanted for so long! πŸ˜€ Although I bet that your dollies are even going to be happier! πŸ˜‰

Thank you so much! I hope that you have a lovely weekend!
