Re-ment: Sumikko Gurashi ‘Sumikko Patisserie’

Rise is Sailor Strawberry and likes strawberries!Sumikko PatisserieOops, I did it again: I got a Re-ment set, got lost in the miniature world for Pullips, Pullips…I am sorry, but it had to get out someday that I was a big Britney fan growing up and that I am still singing this song everytime I get something, I really like! πŸ˜€ Sumikko Gurashi are my favourite characters for so-called ‘character goods’ from Japan because they are simply too cute. If you are not familiar with the characters and their names yet, don’t worry: I emphasized them in the text, so you won’t get confused in the Sumikko universe too much. I hope, you will enjoy this post full of sweets with sweet faces on them!1) Recommended Cake

Sumikko PatisserieSumikko PatisserieThe first set starts with a bang and is probably my personal favourite out of this whole series. It consistsΒ  out of a silver tray, a golden cake server with its handle in form of a golden tapioca and four different kinds of cake. There is a Mont Blanc cake shaped like Tonkatsu with his sidekick Ebi on top, a cheesecake with a tiny Neko on top, a matcha cake with Pengin? sitting on top and finally a strawberry shortcake with Shirokuma. These cakes look so delicious and I am sure that my dolls are going to love them as well as little treats now and then! You can also cut out a napkin and a menu card from the leaflet.

2) Delicious Sweet

Sumikko PatisserieSumikko PatisserieAnother super cute set with wonderful pieces consisting out of a pastel pink tray, Sumikko Patisserie’s own blackboard with today’s specials, a cream puff shaped like Tonkatsu, a Shirokuma butter cream cake and a Neko shaped lemon cake. The leaflet again lets you cut out a napkin, but also a little triangle with pictures of the sweets and their prices. I have to say that the butter cream cake looks delicious!

3) Gugelhupf & Cookie

Sumikko PatisserieSumikko PatisserieThis set hits close to home, coming from the country, where Gugelhupf was invented and having various family recipes in my pocket. Nothing could literally make me happier than Sumikko Gurashi releasing their own Gugelhupf with icing and a cute face on it! It is sitting on top of a baby blue plate with a white doily print on it; very true to tradition. The cookies this set also comes with, are super cute and shaped like pink, blue and yellow Tapioca and their green friend Weed. If you want your cookies to go, you can pack them up into your transparent ‘Sumikko Patisserie’ cookie box. The leaflet contains a cute poster advertising the cookies and the gift box!

4) Icing Cookie & Jam

Sumikko PatisserieSumikko PatisserieSumikko PatisserieMore cookies to go?! Re-ment has got you covered with a jar of strawberry and blueberry jam that you can eat your iced cookies with. The cookies are in the shape of Neko, Pengin? and Tokage, who hasn’t made an appearance so far. They also come with exactly the same transparent cookie box as the last set and you can make your own shopping bag out of the leaflet, which I did. It does not look too shabby, right?! ><

5) Baked Sweet

Sumikko PatisserieLovers of sweet bread, this is the set for you! You get a total of five breads, a basket, a golden set of tongs and a paper bag. The breads are in the shape of Neko, Pengin?, Shirokuma, Tonkatsu and Tokage. You can cut out and fold Furoshiki from the leaflet and put it into the basket to make it look even cuter. The golden tongs have Tapioca on each end and are actually functional!

6) Soda Jelly Set

Sumikko PatisserieSumikko PatisserieLast year I fell in love with soda jelly in Sanrio Puroland. I am actually super happy about it because otherwise I wouldn’t have any clue, what that blue stuff in the glass with Tokage on top was supposed to be. You get a base consisting out of blue square shaped jellies with a transparent Tokage and a round white piece of whipped cream with some mint on top. Snail also makes an appearance, being disguised as a light blue roll cake with yellow spots and filled with cream. To keep Tokage and Snail company, there are also three macarons with a twist. When you look closely, you will see that they are actually the three tapiocas in their signature colours blue, pink and yellow. Everything comes neatly arranged on a white platter with golden bows on each sides. It also has a print of clovers and Furoshiki and Sparrow in light pink. It goes super well with the transparent pink fork with Furoshiki on top and the transparent lilac spoon featuring Dust. The leaflet comes with a really cute place mat with the Sumikko characters out and about looking for a four leafed clover!

7) Matcha Pudding Set

Sumikko PatisserieSumikko PatisserieSumikko PatisserieThis set has a lot of similarities with the set above, coming with the same serving plate and cutlery. The leaflet also contains a place mat, only in a different design. The star is undoubtedly Pengin?‘s traditional matcha pudding with three tiny pieces of mochi and sweet red beand on the side. You also get provided with two slices of sand cake, Neko and Tonkatsu, with a spoonful of whipped cream topped with two leaves of mint.

8) Anniversary Cake

Sumikko PatisserieSumikko PatisserieSumikko PatisserieBig occasions deserve big and fancy cakes, a big sponge cake with strawberries and cream in the Sumikko world. It has a lovely blue ribbon wrapped all around and a cute bow in the front. You have to decorate it yourself with five tall baby blue candles, which have been already lit – so please be careful! In 2017 was the fifth anniversary of Sumikko Gurashi, so the amount of candles is a nice touch for their fans! Furthermore there are tiny figures of the five main characters Neko, Pengin?, Tonkatsu, Shirokuma and Tokage to be put on top to have them peeking out from between the candles. Also part of this set is a cake dome fully tapioca themed with yellow tapioca at the top and a tapioca print on the plate. The leaflet lets you create your own tiny letter sets to not only gift somebody with a beautiful cake, but your congratulations as well!

Pullip Marie loves soda jelly!I honestly could not be happier with this set! My favourite pieces are the cake slices and anniversary cake, since they are very different from my other Re-ment Little Twin Stars ‘Starry Sky Bakery’ set, which mainly featured variations of sweet breads and I am happy to now have a full selection of kawaii treats for my dolls. You can click here to see my review about my Little Twin Stars’ set!

What is your favourite out of these eight sets and which one would you like to eat as a treat, if they were real food? Thank you so much for reading!
